Manifestation Ajverijada

  Organized and covered by the Municipality of Strumica , for the second time this year the manifestation “Ajverijada”  took place in Strumica, a manifestation where every housewife from the Municipality of Strumica can participate with a jar of home made traditional strumica ajver and can compete for money award for best homemade ajver.This event takes place every year on the 6 October beginning at 12:00 am on the Strumica square “Goce Delchev”, now two years in a row and in its competitive part any housewife can participate. Three of the housewives according to the jury committee will be awarded for best made ajver.
The awards fund is up to 600 euro, 300 euro for first awarded, 200 for second place and 100 for the third place.

 On this manifestation more that ten thousand breads will be daubed with ajver for the visitors, and also the people can try from the other specialties made by the hardworking housewives of Strumica, and typical for this climate region, especially the red sweet pepper recognizable and trademark for Strumica from which pepper the ajvar is made of.  

   For that the manifestation to be more interesting for the participants and the visitors of the “Ajverijada” there is a music and entertainment program, stands with products form local companies, with performances of Strumica’s famous music stars, children performing theatrical and musicals performances.
 For all the visitors on this event, one of the biggest of this kind in Macedonia, the organizers have spent more than 10.000 breads, daubed with more than one tone of home made ajver.

The mayor of the Municipality of Strumica  hopes that the “Ajverijada” will become traditional event for Strumica, and the Strumica homemade ajver will become protected national specialty produced from the Strumica region.
