The lowest point is the level of Lake Ohrid of 695 metres above sea level, and the level of Lake Prespa of 850 metres above sea level, and the highest is the peak Magaro of 2275 metres above sea level. The mountain Galicica has developed relief with deep valleys and steep slopes towards both lakes.

The National Park Galicica is placed in the south-western part of Republic of Macedonia, on the junction of three borders: of Macedonia, Albania and Greece, and it spreads on area of 22750 hectares. The mountain, carrying this name, where the national park is placed on, is a part of the Sara-Pind Mountains System. The south border of the park is the state border of Macedonia with Greece and Albania, eastern is the coast of Lake Prespa, and the western is the coast of Lake Ohrid. The northern border is in the height of the towns Ohrid and Resen. Within the National Park borders, the island Golem Grad in Lake Prespa is included.

No doubt that a very significant characteristic and a great value of Galicica National Park is its flora. The geological, geomorphologic, soil and hydrological characteristics, and the complex climate factors, have contributed to the development of unique flora in many terms on Galicica Mountain.
